Update central

Well Christmas is just around the corner, and with all the fun stuff going on, I wont be around much...so I will just say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to all of you!

Card orders are coming in leaps and bounds, as last minute people realize they don't have that "perfect card" for someone.. or that baby album they wanted to get for their granddaughter or what not! So it keeps me on my toes. I recently re-organized and cleaned out my craft room, getting rid of anything I hadnt used in months..I had a few boxes to trash!! Zachary is growing like a weed, and according to the charts, he is the size of a 3 year old, and judging by his feet, will be over 6'8! LOL!! They thought I would be over 7 feet, so they were a foot and a bit off with me...so we will see how accurate in the coming years they are with monkey man!

Hi guys and girls,

I got to see Santa this past weekend, lemme tell ya it was cool! He is such a neat guy!! I am so excited for Christmas, I got the best present a bit early...but I cant say anything yet, cos its a secret til the new year..so I will update you more then! I also want to be Santa, I love wearing my Santa hat and walking around the house going ho ho ho! I also am doing quite well in knowing when I have to go potty. I also have a bunch of new words, and talk a lot more than I used to! Mommy is very proud of me. I got 2 eyeteeth last night, so sleep was something I had a hard time getting. I feel bad, cos Mommy had to get blood taken today...so we are all a bit tired. I write this as I watch my favorite show The Price is Right...I think its the colours I love!!

ok so i guess pictures are first....the one of me all white is what happens if you leave me alone for 5 minutes with baby powder! LOL

Well we've been so busy in our terrible 2 world...that mommy hasnt had time to breathe, let alone blog. I apologize for the delay. We also went thru a run of the sinus cold, and well that left us all a little less than completely grumpy. Mommy has been preparing for her craft fair, and doing tons of Christmas cards...she has her own blog ... http://www.cathscustomcreations.wordpress.com/ if you wanted to see what she does when I am not creating complete havoc on the world as I know it! I am doing good with potty training...been in the potty a few times..its still kind of scary, but I know I will master it! I have grown 3 inches since my last check up in July..doctors tell mommy I am gonna be a tall one. Sheesh, I think we kinda figured that, considering mommy is just shy of 6ft! LOL! I am going to see Santa next weekend..that will be fun..I have an adorable outfit to wear, and its not even a bit embarassing (good job Mommy and Daddy)...will post that pic when we get it!! Well here are a few pics of me, and admit it..Im cute! LOL!!

happy halloween!

Well after a week of Zachary having a tummy bug, and not eating for a week...and went thru a package and a half of diapers...we have a healthy lil boy again! YAY! Today we celebrated Halloween at play group, and he was the hit of the show in his tiger costume. On actual Halloween he trick or treated for about 30 mins, as he wasnt feeling well..but dang in that 30 mins he got more candy than a 2 year old ever needs! LOL! Lots of people gave out chips..so those have made there way to Ians lunches!

Here are a few pics of Zachy in his tiger costume...we couldnt get him to growl like a tiger, unless we asked him what noise a vaccuum cleaner makes, and then would go RAOAR!!

Life with a 2 yr old!

Zachary is definatly 2! My goodness...wow! He tries my patience constantly..but I love him anyway! LOL! And he is at the age where he doesnt want to eat anything but 1 particular item...can you guess what that is? OLIVES! LOL! He is definately his mommas son!

5 hours and 6 minutes from now...Zachary will be 2!

Woah...thats crazy right? He's gonna be 2 @ 2:09am Oct 20th! Where does the time go! It seems like yesterday he was in his carrier, and sleeping the day away! Now he runs away from home, eats more than I do and is in a big boy bed! He got spoiled today with tons of great gifts from mommy, daddy, Auntie Lori, Uncle Darrick, Gramma T and Grampa T! Will post some pics from the birthday party we had tomorrow since blogger isnt allowing me to!..just a family one this year..bigger one next year!! I promise!

By the way, the markings on Zacharys bed are dwarven, from Lord of the Rings, and they spell out Zachary!!!

Well Zachary has proved his escape tendencies by our previous blog entry....so we decided it was time to bring over the custom made hobbit big boy bed Ian's dad had built Zachary. For his birthday his Gramma Thompson got him a bedroom set with his fave car Lightening McQueen on it (from CARS)...and they also got him a mattress...its a sealy..way to go kiddo...on your way to becoming a big kid. We went out today and got a guard rail for him, so he doesn't fall out...and set it up all pretty. Tonight's the test..we will see how he does...no noises coming from the bedroom so far!!! the worst day of my life so far..by far!!!

So heres the scenario...Zachary has just recently figured out he can get out of the crib..its on the lowest it can be keep in mind, and is in the stage where he crawls out of it and plays...well he also is still at that age where if he doesnt have an afternoon nap, he is VERY grumpy. He also likes to sleep with his bedroom door open so he can hear all the goings on of the house...our bathroom is opposite Zacharys room. Ok so fine...I put him down for a nap...I do some laundry...i poke my head in the doorway and he is sound asleep..so I take this opportunity to take the garbage out..i check again, he is still asleep. having to go to the sandbox (bathroom..) and have a shower, I decide to shut the door as not to wake him up...never had a problem..well I go to the bathroom, and something makes me go and check that he is ok..I was in there no more than 5 minutes, and Zacharys bed is empty....frantic I check the spare room (he likes to play in there), the play room...no Zachary...I run to the front of the house...no Zachary in the kitchen, Ians office, my scrapbooking room...no Zachary....I get to the front living room and notice in horror that my front door is open...I start panicking now...I scream his name...I run down my front steps into my backyard...no Zachary...I am hysterical by this point, and call my husband, running around our street barefoot yelling his name..hubby calls inlaws who head over right away...the 3 of us running around the neighborhood screaming ZACHARY...now he doesnt talk much, but he understands everything you tell him...I call 911...they ask me what he was wearing..do you think I could remember? I couldnt breathe, heart going a mile a minute..dispatch transfers me to RCMP, meanwhile Im still screaming his name...I get a cop on the phone, "yes my son is missing" ...by this point its been just over 30 minutes, and an extensive search thru the streets.....and who comes out of a backyard 6 houses down, covered in mud with a big smile on his face, ZACHARY....I ran to him...tears streaming down my face...Ian gets home, police show up, Cath shaking like a leaf, feeling like the worlds worst mother....I carry him back home...just so relieved he is ok... still today im shaky, and my voice is gone from screaming his name..and im getting a cold cos running around barefoot in -3 degree weather, with no jacket is not good for a body...we went to Canadian Tire and bought latch deadbolts for the 2 doors that go outside ..installed them...they will always be latched as long as we are inside... what a day....i have never been so scared in my whole life...and ive been thru a LOT!!! Life can throw a curve ball...in a blink of an eye...yikes!

home from BC

We had a fabulous trip to see my parents and their new house..but we are very happy to be home! Its a perfect weekend to arrive at home too, its Canadian Thanksgiving...yum Turkey!!! Gotta make sure there are olives as well ;-) since Zach is now an olive hound like his momma! lions and tigers and bears OH MY~

Well I have been slacking in the blog department big time..but life has been pretty busy at the Thompson household....for one, we did some home renovating, giving Ian a private office that he has always wanted. We also (Zachary and I) have been on h olidays on Vancouver Island for the last 8 days...its gorgeous here. My parents new house is also a sight to be seen(pics to come when I am home from my trip...which is tomorrow)....We have gone on a lot of walks, explored the ocean side and seen wildlife. Very fun for our almost 2 year old lil boy. Speaking of..he turns 2 in 11 days..I cannot believe it...it seems like yesterday that we were told it was a lil boy. I have so many stories to share that have occurred in the last 2 years..from Zachary rolling over, to running...from his first word mum to a child who now constantly talks!! We also have Canadian Thanksgiving occurring when I return...so that will be lots of good times with my inlaws and that side of the family! I know they have missed Zachary the last week and a half we have been gone, and will be there with grins on at the airport tomorrow! Well I will do a more proper update when I am back home!!! For now I say TTFN!!! I probably wont get on for a few days to get settled again...but you can bet I will post pics of our trip, Zacharys 2nd birthday and more when I return! Oh and we found him the cutest lil' tiger costume for halloween....last year he was a lion....these are all costumes he has chosen for himself....wonder if next year he will choose a bear...lions and tigers and bears oh MY~ hahhaha!

ok long update time!!

Hey, so earlier post got lost in cyber world so we will try again! LOL!

Zachary is growing like a weed and 6 weeks away from turning 2! I cannot believe its been almost 2 years! It goes by so fast! He eats a ton now, and actually watches tv..he hated tv til about 2 weeks ago, now he has shows that make him excited, and music that makes him shake his booty! He loves Elmo and the Big Comfy Couch the best. Big Comfy Couch is on every day, and so every morning at 11 Lunette the clown and her doll Molly let us into their world! Elmos laugh makes Zachary have a belly laugh...he grabs his belly and chuckles..its adorable to watch!!
He is getting his 2 year molars...making him kinda grumpy. He is so independent, and loves to do things himself...he claps whenever he has accomplished something! Its great! He is also just about ready to start potty training again..we had tried..but he had an allergy to the pullups we bought, so we are going to try a different brand and see where it gets us! We did some renovating 2 weekends ago, and now Zachary has a huge playroom right off his bedroom...and for the first time in a long time we have a "tv room"...which is great for Ian to play guitar hero at night, or watch a movie! Zacharys vocab is also growing, he says all sorts of things...including a bad word...we know however, that he is trying to say duck...not the other word! LOL! But its so hard not to laugh when he says it...cos it sounds so cute coming out of a lil mouth! Zach and I head out to BC in 3 weeks to see my parents new house all complete..we are pretty excited...its been a long process from start to finish. We went out when it was just land, to the framing of the house...now we get to see the complete product. I will be sure to post pics when we get back. Speaking of pics..its not letting me post right now..so i will have to post them later!

terrible 2's

life and times of Zachary and I have been interesting around our house lately...most people tell you of the terrible 2's but you dont think it will ever get to that point in your own home..especially since Zachary is not yet 2..hes close, 3 months away..but I guess he is advanced for his age!hahahah

...ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh people...i am so tired..lol..and everytime i turn around zachary has crawled to a higher point on the couch, or today he tried to climb the bookshelves (good thing we drilled them into the wall!!)...it seems like he is just trying to test me..and well he most definately is testing me. i love this kid and moments like this just make me wonder why i want more than one! LOL! But i do adore him...i just miss the days where my furniture wasnt a jungle gym, he ate what was put in front of him instead of constantly hearing the dreaded "NO" word, and he happily went for a nap at 10:30 in the morning and again at 4:30 in the afternoon, and easily went to bed when it was bedtime! Now its a constant battle for bed, naps, food, limitations etc...temper tantrums are now an occurance I brace myself for when I say the words "No Zachary you CANNOT climb onto the tv stand" or "No Zachary, it is bedtime"

this to shall pass LOL...but be warned around 21 months it starts..and I dont know when it ends..but I hope soon!

life goes pretty fast

And some days its hard to get on here to blog...my son has become a climber. He figures that he should climb on anything he can get a grip onto, and swing himself up..hence the nickname Monkey. Today while cooking supper, he was puttering around my feet..then went to play with a bowl and spoon...ok...thats fine..I turn around and find him standing on top of the kitchen table with a huge grin on his face. LOL! He is constantly crawling onto the couch too...and onto the end table..where he looks at you so innocently, with a hint of mischief in his eyes! Classic! He also stops the mischief to give me kisses...throughout the day..randomly...just walks up to me, makes the kissing noise, i bend down, and viola, slobber all over my face!!!!

Things are good for us in The Thompson household...Zachary is almost over his cold....yay! He still has a raspy cough, but way better than it was. I also cut his hair, it looks pretty darn cute if >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I do say so myself. Today we are thinking of going to the last day of capital ex...so we can enjoy mini donuts and corn dogs..and maybe let zach ride the carousel! We will have to see, as he is napping, and if hes happier when he wakes up, we will go....

I have been working on a couple card orders, while Zachs been sick...as he napped a lot this week...letting me get them made and sent out!!

Zach and the cold

My poor lil guy...he gets over the tummy flu, and gts whammed with a cold. He has been coughing and feelin' poopy for 3 days now...my poor lil guy. His cough is so raspy, and he has a fever. He is not one to fall asleep on mommy, yet last night and today it's the only place he would sleep. He has a runny nose, and feels shapoopy. I never knew my own strength til the last few days, because I too have started getting the cold, but have had to be super mommy at the same time. So I am proud to say I have survived 3 days with less than 24 hours sleep, and I am still able to be there for Ian and Zach! WOOHOO! I even got all the dishes done, and the laundry started! Not bad for barely functional! I hope we are all better by the weekend cos we have plans that will have to be cancelled if we aren't!
Anyway, hope you all are doing well and life is treating you well.

first sentence!

Zachary doesn't say a lot of words...but he does have his ones that he says a lot .."ditty" for kitty (as we have Ian's folks 2 cats, he sees a lot of the ditties lately), mumma, mum (both of which I am fondly referred as!), dad, no, wow, doddy (doggy for the cute pomeranian that goes by our house about 3 times a day), roar (the noise the vacuum cleaner makes, or daddy when daddy blows his nose), and a few other random words like button, juuuuuuuuuuice, and more! But they are all totally random. Anyhow, yesterday Zachary and I were playing and he made me laugh, and I said "Oh Zachary I love you" and he replied "Mum, I uv oo"..my heart melted! His other new thing is naming body parts...if you ask Zachary where his ears, eyes, nose, toes, belly button, and teeth are..he will sweetly point to each! I took pics of this today..and will probably post them tomorrow..as its almost bedtime. But I can already picture the scrapbook layouts! It is one of those scrapbooker things, you take the pictures because you have a good layout idea!

Short weekends stink..but Zach still has fun!

So Daddy worked all day yesterday...but Zach and I still had a blast....we played, laughed and enjoyed each other. He loves to crawl in and out of his car, slamming the door and laughing!!! It was a bit windy, so we stayed away from the kiddy pool, as I didn't want him catching a chill when he was still recovering from the flu..but we had a good time enjoying each other! He got his appetite back too..which was good..the kid must have eaten at least half a watermelon, 2 scrambled eggs, and a piece of toast..not to mention umpteen sippy cups of apple juice. That was yesterday..today was spent doing N O T H I N G! As it was Ian's only day off this week, we layed low and ate grilled cheese sandwiches, he played ps3, and I scrapbooked, Zachary wondered between the tv room and my scrapbooking room and the laundry room. He even brought me a couple socks, I think he was saying that I needed to do laundry. That being said, all Ian's work clothes are done, and hanging in the closet for the week, socks rolled in the drawer and ready to go..minus 2 or 3 socks that Zach found on my laundry room floor! He is so very independent now, and really quite a character, the kid hated hats from the time he was born til about 3 weeks ago. Now he can't get enough of them! As this picture shows, he will do the funniest things. He found this toque that we had from when he was 3 months old, and decided to wear it while eating a fine lunch of alphagettis and milk...our biggest adventure is that we are trying to get him to use more words, as he doesn't really say much...he has his words..and uses them when he wants to, but in most cases its a series of whines, grunts and strange baby noises. However, as a mother I tend to know what each one means. Last night he woke up crying...I knew by the way he was crying that he was in pain...sure as anything, when I went in to check on him, he had caught one of his cute chubby legs in between the crib bars! After a cuddle and a sippy cup of water..he was back tucked in with his favorite pillow and his binky, and asleep before I even shut the door!

2 sick boys!

Sad day here at The Thompson household..normally we look forward to weekends and spend as much time doing fun things with Zachary. Well not this weekend, as I have 2 sick boys...my hubby has a cold, and Zachary with the flu! PLUS Ian has to work tomorrow...taking away one of our weekend play days. It stinks because Saturdays are the day Ian makes breakfast for Zach and I, and I get to sleep in a bit! But when work calls..you gotta go! Zach is alot better today, and the health nurse came to check in on him. Apparently he has grown 3 inches since she last measured him. WOW! Ian smartly asked how tall he is now, and stupidly, I didn't ask that, just took the 3 inches taller thing! Will have to ask her to write down the measurements for me next time! The proof of the growth is also in his feet...he was wearing size 6 shoes for what seems like the last few months with lots of room in them..now they are getting tight! I remember when his foot was the size of my thumb..now its almost 3 times that big! CRAZY! I guess that he gets that from me, his size 11 foot momma!

Sick baby boy

So its official, I have a sick little boy. He is lethargic, pukey (as exhibit a is being washed in the washing machine) and just not himself. He was cuddley as heck and didn't want anything to do with his sippy cups this morning, instead got one of his bottles out of the cupboard and brought it to me..this is a tell tale Zachary sign that he is not feeling well...as he only wants the bottle when he is under the weather. He is now napping after having a good cuddle and some baby tyelenol. I hate that he isn't feeling well..he's been asleep for 2 hours..which for him, is rare. I have checked on him about 10 times..yet he is still sound asleep, cuddling Furston, his stuffed dog! and sleeping under his favorite pillow! But even when he is not feeling well he can still give me a winning smile and eat mac and cheese!

Duka Duka

So Zachary is very close to Ian's parents..we live just down the street from them, so we see them often. However, that being said, this summer they took off in the motor home to explore eastern Canada, and will not be returning til the end of the summer. Zachary fondly refers to Grampa Thompson as Duka Duka...well he is most definately Grampa's guy and they both miss each other terribly. He is always going to the window going "Dukadukaduka" but there is no grampa. Now Gamma (as Ian's mom is fondly referred to) called last night from Nova Scotia, where they were getting ready to board a ferry to Prince Edward Island, but they had added new pictures to facebook! I had to share this one..because its so sweet. They miss Zachary terribly, and Zachary misses them..he kissed the phone last night when they were on the phone!

Zach is such a character

As I set this blog up, I was looking for the best picture that represents my little 20 month old the best, I came across new and old pictures and the whole time I hear this lil' voice "me mum, me" and a cute lil finger pointing... as I search! So adorable! It is rainy here today, so I figure today is the perfect day to start this blog of Zachary!! He does so many adorable things everyday, that this is the perfect way to share them with friends and family!
